From 14/10 to 14/11/21 I exhibit with Noorder Art in Münster, in the Haus der Niederlande. The exhibition is about us as neighbours. Students have made their own contribution.

And then someone else shares a perfect 'moment': you can't pose for a 'moment' because it will be gone in a split second. The picture is often far a bad one due to too little or too much light, wrong colors or unnecessary information. But the message is moving and inspiring for me. And that must be painted ...

Sometimes it is possible to 'catch' a moment with the camera ... Maybe 1 of the 50 attempts succeed. So... How beautiful is that as a subject to paint?

My father died almost five years ago. So far all attempts to paint his portrait targeted the end of his life, but a person is more than the sum of its parts and that is why I chose to paint him in a period in which he was in the prime of his life. He is probably depicted here more as son, brother and father, and less as grandfather and great-grandfather, but it is who he was...

Members of the Beeldend Collectief Drenthe are exposing all over the Netherlands, but Amsterdam is not often in the picture. Now we are going with 21 artists of the Drents Collectief in November to Amsterdam to exhibit together in this major city. Loods 6 is the ideal location to do so.
